Approaching launch!

October 4, 2006

Coming back to this after quite a break (holidays included but mainly just tooooo much going on) quite a lot has happened in the meantime. Our OpenLearn site is well on its way towards launch. There is real content there, both the learner facing LearningSpace and the more experimental LabSpace are up and running and we have even managed to fit in a bit of user testing. The LabSpace also is the platform for a ResearchZone where we can put out our results and look for contributions from outside – hosting questionnaires, forums and database for user contributions. Definitely has potential but will need development further after launch day (25th October) – though if you guess the URL you might find it now as we test access from outside.

The OpenLearn team has been really impressive across the range and from our first bit of testing it was amazing how well it worked, though of course there is also a long list of things we know we can do better!
